Mission Statement
UNDP Thailand is a center of excellence dedicated to providing policy advice and advocacy for change in support of human development and partnership.
UNDP is the UN's global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in 166 countries, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges.
The growing partnership between UNDP and Thailand is based on a mutual exchange of knowledge and expertise. UNDP is a crucial gateway for Thailand in accessing international expertise, policy advice, and best practices. In turn, Thailand is an indispensable link in this global network, allowing UNDP to assist other countries using Thailand’s knowledge and development experience.
The UNDP-Thailand partnership covers five broad thematic areas:
- Environmentally Sustainable Development
- Responsive Governance
- Thailand’s Contribution to the International Partnership for Development
- Millennium Development Goals
- HIV/AIDS
UNDP also works on issues in Thailand that fall within these broad themes, including crisis prevention and recovery, promoting women’s role in politics, and helping Thailand disseminate its knowledge and expertise around the world.
