On Tuesday 9 March, UNDP Thailand will be launching the latest Asia-Pacific Human Development Report
UNDP Thailand will be hosting a local launch for the latest UNDP Asia-Pacific Human Development Report: Power, Voice and Rights: A Turning Point for Gender Equality in Asia and the Pacific.
The launch will give a Thailand-specific perspective to the report, which finds women in the region continue to lag behind men in the areas of work, political participation, and non-discrimination before the law. The report provides a number of recommendations to improve the lives of women in the Asia Pacific. These include removing barriers to women owning assets such as land, expanding paid employment, making migration safe and increasing women’s political participation through improved quota systems.
The launch of the report will take place at Amari Watergate Hotel, 847 Petchburi Road, Bangkok.
